We continue on with our series on U.S. Imperialism, picking up where we left off at the end of the Dawn of the Cold War, 1960. Now we will explore U.S. Imperialism in the 15 year period between 1960 and 1975, from the US response to the Cuban Revolution all the way to the Fall of Saigon, during the Height of the Cold War, where tensions were at their highest, battles were at their bloodiest, coups were at their most plentiful and the world came the closest to nuclear conflict. We will explore both the international happenings and the domestic happenings, and we need comrades to keep in mind that we are packing so much history down into one class that we’re bound to miss events and gloss over details, and we’ll probably have several classes result from this one. This will be our 2nd to last class on the Cold War period, with History of U.S. Imperialism: End of the Cold War coming in October. Class is Tuesday, September 19th at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST and Thursday, September 21st at 9 pm EST/6 pm PST.

If you’re new to PSMLS, the school provides free public collective education every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays on a variety of topics from a Marxist-Leninist perspective. You don’t have to be a member of anything or identify as any certain ideology to attend. The PSMLS is a Party of Communists USA initiated and sponsored school, but it is not a party school, which is great because it allows for a wide variety of different perspectives and opinions to be brought forth which don’t necessarily reflect the party line.
